The most recent edition of the Journée nationale de concertation en proche aidance took place on October 1 in Saint-Hyacinthe. This year’s event was the first step in the consultation process to inform the government’s upcoming caregiver action plan, the Plan d’action gouvernemental pour les personnes proches aidantes 2026-2031.

We would like to thank the Direction générale des aînés et des proches aidants, a division of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), for offering us the opportunity to help organize the event, principally by contributing to the identification of themes and the development of engaging and accessible workshops.

We would also like to thank the participants representing different caregiving sectors from across the province! Particular acknowledgment goes to all those who led and facilitated the various workshops. It was a real privilege to explore, delve into and prioritize concrete ideas to better recognize and support caregivers in Quebec, whoever they may be. Our team looks forward to continuing to combine our efforts and perspectives at future caregiving events, for the well-being of the people who play such a valuable role in our society.
