This webinar (41 min) presents the handbook developed to support the implementation of CSA Standard B701-17, Carer inclusive and accommodating organizations. The standard provides guidelines on how different workplaces and industries can best accommodate caregiver-employees through policies and programs.
Research Allison Williams consulted with the CSA Group to offer insights into the situation of caregiver-employees in Canada and review the methodology that led to the standard’s development.
In the webinar’s second part, Jan Chappel of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety explores how workplaces can adopt and implement the proposed accommodations.
To conclude, Sari Sairanen of the general trade union Unifor discusses the potential impact of implementing these recommendations on caregiver-employees.
