This report (70 pages, in French) offers recommendations for professionals regarding respite services for caregivers in France. Its goal is to clarify the concept of respite and provide practical tools to help identify, assess and support caregivers more effectively.

The report was produced by France’s Haute Autorité de santé (HAS), an independent public health authority with a scientific mandate. Its mission includes equipping professionals in optimizing both their practices and organizational processes and thus empowering service users to make informed choices.

The report is also presented in a webinar (1:32) that first aired on October 3, 2024 as part of the best practices sessions organized by the HAS.
