This guide (18 pages, in French) provides an overview of the essential elements to consider when establishing a partnership with caregivers. It is intended primarily for health and social services professionals who wish to involve caregivers as partners in the development of initiatives, ensuring that their experience and knowledge are integrated at every stage, from design and planning to implementation and evaluation.

The document is adapted from the Guide d’identification et d’implantation du patient partenaire developed by the Centre of Excellence for Partnerships with Patients and the Public (CEPPP) and Unité de Soutien SSA Québec. The adaptation was carried out under the advisory role mandate for the inclusion of patient-partners in digital services within the health care system, entrusted to the information technology directorate (DGTI) of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) for the 2021-22 period.
