This report (39 pages, in French) aims to better address the needs of English-speaking caregivers in Montreal’s West Island. It provides a sociodemographic profile of the region and identifies the barriers in access to service for caregivers in this population.
The findings it presents are based on a literature review as well as on 19 qualitative interviews with five caregivers, five psychosocial workers from the health and social services system, seven community and volunteer workers, and two union representatives.
The findings are also presented in a webinar (40 min, available in English) that aired on November 29, 2024 as part of the Communauté de pratique en proche aidance.
Both the report and its accompanying webinar are intended for professionals, practitioners and anyone with an interest in developing concrete solutions to promote the inclusion and support of caregivers.
