This report (50 pages, in French) documents the experiences of caregivers who support one or more older adults living at home in France. It synthesizes the findings of four separate projects, each focusing on a specific aspect of caregiving (a gendered analysis of caregiving, the reconciliation of paid employment with caregiving responsibilities, the intensity of care work, and marital dynamics within caregiving contexts). The data are drawn from a qualitative study involving some 30 participants in the 2015 CARE-Ménages quantitative survey, with a focus on their specific caregiving situations.
