2026: New projects for a new year

In continuation with our initiatives carried out in recent months, 2026 will see the rollout of new meaningful collaborations and insightful publications, to highlight various caregiving realities and better support all concerned stakeholders.

In 2025, our team actively pursued its commitment to recognizing and supporting caregivers in Quebec, thanks to many meaningful collaborations and enriching initiatives.

The year 2026 looks just as promising. Here is an overview of the projects set to be launched in the coming months:

Original publications
  • New interactive infographics and states of knowledge on various caregiving trajectories, including:
    • Trajectory of caregivers of people with mental health issues
    • Trajectory of caregivers of people in palliative or end-of-life care
    • Trajectory of caregivers of older adults in hospital settings
    • Trajectory of caregivers in immigrant communities
    • Trajectory of caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
  • Series of four comic strips, accompanied by a guide, to promote recognition of young caregivers in elementary school, high school, and young adulthood (ages 18–25), as well as among adults who interact with or receive support from young caregivers
  • Scientific watch bulletin covering articles published between January and December 2025
  • 2026–2031 Strategic plan of the Quebec Observatory on Caregiving
Activities to promote caregiving expertise from here and abroad
Structural collaborations that benefit caregivers
  • Contribution to the preparation of a statistical profile of caregivers in Quebec
  • Participation in the steering committee of the Caregiving Community of Practice of l’Équipe des projets nationaux en transfert des connaissances (CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS)
  • Support for the development of awareness-raising content on various caregiving realities
