The Quebec Observatory on Caregiving is seeking to collect firsthand accounts from people who are or have been caregivers in order to enrich current knowledge about their realities and the challenges they face.
In an effort to capture the full diversity of the caregiving experience, we are looking for personal stories from caregivers with a variety of profiles, including:
- Caregivers of people with disabilities, neurocognitive disorders, mental health challenges or addictions
- Caregivers involved in palliative and end-of-life care, particularly in the context of a request for medical assistance in dying (MAID)
- Parents caregivers
- Male caregivers
- Caregivers from ethnocultural minority communities
- Caregivers from 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
- Caregivers who wish to share their post-caregiving experience
What to expect
If you are interested, you will be invited to take part in a 45 minute to 1-hour one-to-one discussion with a member of our team, during which you can recount your journey and share your experience as a caregiver. This conversation, which can take place online or in person depending on your preference, will be recorded and transcribed to ensure the faithful representation of your words, in the interest of respecting and understanding your experience. By participating, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the Observatory’s mission, as some of your words may be included in various publications and shared on different platforms!
