The Questionnaire de Lou and its accompanying guide (20 pages) were designed to make it easier for school staff to identify children aged 7 to 12 who are experiencing or are likely to be in a caregiving situation.

The tool was developed as part of a study on school-aged children in Quebec who support a someone. Aimed at providing insights into the young caregiver experience, the study set out to develop practical tools for identifying these caregivers and supporting their academic and personal development.

The study and the tools that resulted are also discussed in a webinar (54 min) that first aired on January 29, 2025.
