This guide (108 pages, in French) and its accompanying toolkit (72 pages) and summary sheet (1 page) discuss practices that promote recognizing and involving caregivers in the recovery process of people with a mental health disorder. They were developed by the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale and multiple partners and are aimed at practitioners and managers who work with adult mental health clients The guide has three sections:

1. The basics: theoretical bases/definition of the key concepts underpinning the involvement of loved ones
2. Clinical practices: best practices presented in the form of 21 fact sheets (these are included in the toolkit)
3. Organizational context: the conditions needed to support the implementation of best practices

The summary sheet recaps the guide’s contents.
