This report (23 pages) highlights the importance of supporting caregivers within the U.S. healthcare system and issues recommendations to that effect. It is intended as a resource for health and social service professionals, funders and other public and private stakeholders seeking to better understand and improve services for caregivers.

The mixed-method approach used to assess the field involved a literature review, a 2020 online survey conducted with 15 medical providers who worked directly with caregivers, and interviews with 43 professionals directly or indirectly involved in caregiver support.
