This report (63 pages) focuses on the healthcare trajectories of Canadians of all ages who are living with dementia. It highlights the role of professionals and caregivers in various care settings, including home care, long-term care facilities and hospitals, and includes three case studies from Quebec, British Columbia and Ontario.

The analysis follows a group of people with dementia for five years after their first record of dementia to understand their interactions with Canada’s health care systems. The report is further enriched by statistical data collected by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) from various government agencies.
