This guide (58 pages, in French) explores the lived experience of schizophrenia and offers practical recommendations for supporting people who have the disorder and their caregivers. It is primarily intended for professionals and service managers seeking to enhance the quality of care and support provided.

The guide draws on a 2016 study that examined the barriers faced by people living with schizophrenia as they adapt to the disorder. Building on these findings, it outlines an approach for identifying interventions that could help reduce these barriers. The recommendations were developed during three workshops that brought together people with lived experience of schizophrenia and professionals.
