It includes data on the age groups and genders of these so-called “sandwich” caregivers, their relationship to the care recipient and the negative impacts of caregiving on their lives.

The data on which the infographic is based are from the 2022 Canadian Social Survey – Well-being and Caregiving and the 2023 paper, Canada’s Care Economy: A Conceptual Framework.
