This short article (3 pages, in French) and its five accompanying infographics presents the findings from a study led by Marie-Hélène Morin entitled “Prendre soin des personnes proches aidantes en temps de pandémie.” The study set out to document the experiences of caregivers, particularly those in rural areas, to better understand the impacts of the health crisis on their role. The diversity of lived experience was an area of special focus. Sixty-eight (68) caregivers from four regions of Quebec who care for a person with a mental health disorder (MSD), an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or an age-related issue responded to an online survey. Individual interviews were subsequently conducted with a sample of 20 caregivers. The qualitative analysis forms the basis of the article. The article and its infographics were published in the Réseau Qualaxia journal Quintessence (Vol. 13, No. 3, June 2022).
