This report (150 pages) from a Australian study looks into how the demands of being a young caregiver affect schooling. It explores the characteristics influencing classroom attendance, the barriers restricting participation in education and the young carers’ perceptions of their well-being.

The study is based on data generated through Young Carer Bursary applications received in 2017 and 2018. The responses of 1,443 young caregivers who completed an online questionnaire as part of the application process were analyzed.
