This report (167 pages, in French) evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of “Au-delà du TED : des compétences parentales à ma portée,” a support program created to optimize parenting skills among the parents of young children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The evaluation is based on information collected by observing parents and their children in three different establishments (Mauricie/Centre-du-Québec, Chaudière-Appalaches and Québec) and on interviews carried out with 14 facilitators and of six managers following the program’s application.
Note that, while the program may have developed since the report’s publication, the practices it records continue to be relevant in terms of informing and inspiring new support initiatives for the parents of young children with an ASD.
