This report (48 pages) and the accompanying infographic present the results of a survey conducted to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on double-duty caregivers (health care providers who simultaneously provide care at work and at home). The data highlight how the pandemic affected the provision of care on the personal and professional fronts, caregivers’ physical and mental health and their financial situation. The authors propose three caregiving prototypes to represent the experience of people in this situation, suggest ways they could be better supported, and conclude by listing various factors that might ease the stress of double-duty caregiving work in Alberta.
