This research brief (3 pages) looks at an assessment of the Canadian Hospice and Palliative Care Association’s Canadian Compassionate Company (CCC) program. The program awards CCC certification to companies that meet certain criteria for supporting employed caregivers.

The aims were to:

  • Explore employer motivations to become a CCC.
  • Investigate the benefits of being a CCC.
  • Understand employer challenges associated with the CCC program.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the CCC.

The study was based on semi-structured remote interviews conducted using videoconferencing software with four CCC employers between February and April 2021.
