This report (39 pages) and the accompanying infographic presents the results of a survey conducted in July 2020 to study the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Alberta caregivers. The authors highlight the differentiated impact of COVID-19 on caregivers of both Albertans living at home (with the caregiver or not) and Albertans living in congregate settings (e.g. residential long-term care [CHSLD] or supportive living [RPA] ). They also consider the impact of COVID-19 on the number of hours of care provided, on caregivers’ physical and mental health, and on the professional, and home services received. The report concludes with recommendations for improving caregiver support in Alberta .
