The Observatory is proud to unveil its very first scientific watch bulletin. This document provides an analytical summary of 60 articles on caregiving or caregivers published by Quebec researchers between July 2022 and September 2023.

The aim of the bulletin is to identify the themes, findings, trends and practices emerging from the scientific literature during the designated period in order to inform decision-makers, professionals and members of the scientific community in Quebec, the rest of Canada and internationally.

Analysis of the articles revealed three main themes:

    • Caregivers’ experience of care and services
    • Caregivers’ quality of life
    • Caregivers’ relational experience

For each of these themes, the main research findings and implications for practice are discussed. The conclusion focuses on needs for future research. La conclusion porte sur les besoins pour les recherches futures.
