In this new report, the Observatory provides unique insights into the most reliable and up-to-date statistics on caregiving, drawn from Statistics Canada’s General Social Survey on Caregiving and Receiving Care (2018). The report analyzes these statistics based on the age and gender of individuals, allowing for a better understanding of the diverse realities of caregiving in Quebec, as well as certain challenges. The report « Qui sont les personnes proches aidantes au Québec et quel type de soutien apportent-elles ? Une analyse différenciée selon l’âge et le sexe » first presents the profile of caregivers according to age, gender, employment status, and the relationship with the person or persons being cared for. It then presents the support provided (type of support and number of hours) based on the age and gender of caregivers.
