examine how COVID-19 affected family caregivers in Alberta and their needs after 18 months of the pandemic. Based on the results of a survey, the authors highlight the differentiated impact of COVID-19 on the family caregivers of two types of older Albertans: those living at home (with the caregiver or not), and those living in congregate settings (e.g. residential long-term care [CHSLD] or supportive living [RPA]). They also consider the impact of COVID-19 on the number of hours of care work provided, on caregivers\u2019 physical and mental health, and on the professional and home services received. Two types of support are then described, based on what the caregivers reported during the interviews.
